Terms of Use

Purpose and scope of these terms

These Terms of Use explain the conditions and practical boundaries for accessing BPMFinder.online's music timing tools and informational pages. The site provides browser-based tempo estimation, manual tapping, metronome playback, and calculations of musical note durations. Its guides help explain those measurements and their use in common music workflows.

Read these terms alongside the Privacy Policy and Disclaimer. Each covers a different question: responsible use, information handling, and the limits of results. If a condition is unclear, contact Contact@bpmfinder.online before relying on the relevant feature. These pages do not create a paid service agreement or a promise of individual technical support.

Accessing the tools

The current tools are free to access without an account, subscription, or purchase of analysis credits. You need a compatible browser and device with the resources required by the selected task. Website availability, file decoding, audio playback, and clipboard access can vary between environments. A feature that works in one browser may behave differently in another.

Use the visible controls and observe the limits described on each page. The file analyzer accepts one MP3 or WAV at a time, up to 40 MB and between eight seconds and ten minutes long. The metronome and calculator have their own tempo ranges. These limits define the current implementation rather than an obligation to support every recording or a particular device indefinitely.

Audio files and your responsibilities

Only select recordings you are authorized to access and use. Having a file on your device does not necessarily grant rights to reproduce, distribute, sample, publicly perform, or commercially exploit its contents. A tempo measurement does not change those rights or provide a license for the recording.

The site does not download audio from streaming links, remove access restrictions, or provide a service for obtaining copyrighted tracks. Local analysis reads the file you select; it does not edit the original file or publish it. If a separate music workflow involves sharing or modifying a recording, you are responsible for understanding the permissions relevant to that workflow.

Avoid intentionally submitting corrupt or misleading files in an attempt to disrupt the tools. If an ordinary recording fails, describe the problem rather than repeatedly increasing file size or bypassing the stated limits. You can use Tap Tempo when an audible pulse is available but local decoding is unsuitable.

Results require verification

Automatic BPM readings are estimates. A recording may contain several rhythmic layers, silence, changing tempo, or an ambiguous pulse. Half-time and double-time controls multiply the displayed estimate; they do not establish which count is musically correct. A decimal reading should not be treated as proof of that degree of accuracy.

Check important readings by listening, repeating a manual measurement, or comparing a steady passage with the metronome. The site does not guarantee an error-free project grid, successful transition, exact synchronization, or a particular creative result. Keep an independent copy of your original work and review timing before applying consequential edits in other software.

Calculations, practice, and educational material

The Delay & Reverb Calculator converts a supplied BPM into mathematical note durations. It cannot verify that your entered tempo matches a recording. It also cannot determine a suitable effect mix, feedback level, or reverb sound. Applying a correct duration to the wrong control or beat unit can produce an unintended result.

Guides provide general music education, examples, and explanations. Genre ranges are approximate references, and different versions of a song can have different timing or structure. A practice suggestion is a starting point to adapt to your skill and musical material; it is not a requirement to reach a particular speed or use a fixed routine.

Appropriate use of the website

Do not attempt to interfere with the site's delivery, introduce malicious code, impersonate another person in a report, or use the Contact address for abusive messages. Do not attempt to gain unauthorized access to hosting systems or collect information that the site does not make available through its normal features.

Linking to a public tool or guide for a music discussion is welcome. The ability to read a page does not authorize presenting the whole site or its original artwork as your own product. Respect any license information supplied for third-party code or assets, and ask through Contact if you need clarification about substantial reuse of site material.

Privacy and communications

Selected audio is processed locally by the current application. Ordinary page requests still reach the hosting infrastructure, and email correspondence is handled by email services. The Privacy Policy explains those separate activities; local audio analysis should not be interpreted as a guarantee of anonymous browsing or immediate deletion of a message sent elsewhere.

The Contact form prepares a draft in your email application. It does not send a message from the website or create a support ticket. Review the recipient and content before sending. Include only the information needed to explain your question, and do not send passwords, private recordings, or material you are not authorized to disclose.

Availability and changes

Features, documentation, and supported formats may change as the site is maintained. Temporary interruptions, browser restrictions, or implementation errors can affect use. There is no promised uptime percentage, response deadline, accuracy benchmark, or obligation to preserve a particular interface unchanged.

Where applicable law provides rights or protections that cannot be excluded, these explanations do not remove them. These pages describe the current service and do not replace any obligations that apply to its operation. Questions about the site's operation or the conditions relevant to your use should be directed to the published contact address.

Reporting a concern

Report a broken feature, inaccurate explanation, accessibility problem, or concern about site material through Contact. Include the relevant URL, browser, and steps that reproduce the issue. For a content correction, identify the passage and explain the proposed correction so it can be checked in context.

You may stop using the site at any time. Before returning to a feature after a significant change, review its current controls, limits, and accompanying information. Using a musical timing reference responsibly includes checking both what the tool measures and what it does not establish.
